The Dayton Episcopal Food Pantry is a
ministry dedicated to helping families receive much-needed food each month.
Originally, the food pantry began at
St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in
Trotwood, Ohio. In 2009, the pantry moved to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church to
allow for more space and to serve a growing number of families. Since then, the food pantry has
volunteers from the entire Dayton Deanery which includes 8 churches around the
Dayton area.
The majority of the food the pantry
distributes is purchased through the
FoodBank, Inc. which is located on Washington St. in Dayton. It is through
the FoodBank that we submit our monthly reports for the state.
In April, 2011, the DEFP began using
the Virtual Case Manager system which allows us to more effectively serve our
clients and prepare our monthly reports. The system also gives us the
opportunity to complete the intake process much faster with the VCM card that is
scanned each time a client comes to us for food.
We hope that as you visit our website,
you will take the time to get to know the churches and volunteers in the Dayton
Deanery that work together to provide this important ministry in our
communities. If you have any questions, please feel free to
contact us.
